feeding-ducks2.jpgby rodneygComment by MaryO: That's hysterical ;-) I saw one the other day who would invariably come up from a dive, swallow, and waggle her little tail. Quite funny to watch. |

Fox2.jpgby rodneygComment by MaryO: Oooh, a Grey Fox! I've only seen Red Foxes around here, though there may well be Grey ones lurking about. Amazing how well some of these guys adapt to suburban life. I love him standing so confidently on someone's lawn ;-) |

carolina coyote.jpgby rodneygComment by ellamay: Well, coyotes are my most weary subject. They are very 'wild' still.
I find the only friendly ones have mange. Of course, they make less pretty pictures.
This guy clearly has his summer coat on and it looks healthy, now I have been told in a class by moose peterson that you should only photograph animals when they look their best. Personally I photograph them whenever I see them which is never enough! Any way I would like the image a little darker. I find the dirt in foreground a bit too bright/distracting. I would also like to try it cropped a bit more on the bottom and on the left of him. I love the eye contact tho, and the green background helps him stand out in the image.
Nice capture.
(clearly i need to spend more time in NC you have foxes and coyotes roaming around close to people!) Message edited by author 2009-09-13 20:48:08. |

Fox2.jpgby rodneygComment by Tammster: Very beautiful! He's got such a cute little face... doesn't seem to go with the rest of his body. Nice details. |

Fox2.jpgby rodneygComment by ellamay: What kind of fox is that?
Nicely done, it looks like it is in the hood, but I like the line of the grass leads your eye to the fox. He is nice and sharp, stands out from his background.
I would be tempted to crop it a bit more off the top and left? Just so he is closer.
I sure wish I had such cooperative animals at my place!
Well done |
