Gateby cmangisComment by Glen King: The gate is interesting, but there seems to be no point to the image. Try cropping in really close on the gate from about the solid bar to shapes at the top. |

Gateby cmangisComment by dgregslade: There seems to be some distortion at the bottom of the image and the loss of detail and texture hinders an otherwise nice picture. |

Wallby cmangisComment by ellamay: Greetings from the CC, this shot has a bit of an alex colville feel to it, the light on the wall is certainly the highlight IMO. I feel like the compositon could be a little stronger, perhaps cropping the right more to place the bold line over to the right a bit more. As it stands it is a bit to central IMO. My other thought would be to reduce the 'strength' of the bold line it is a somewhat overpowering focus, which may be your intention, however, i would like to bath in that light in the background a little more, I think you would like alex colvilles work may give you some ideas...
good eye, keep shooting : ) |

Quiet Timeby cmangisComment by Kavey: ... "there's no one here but us chickens" ...
Great scene - I wonder if a non-centred composition would be stronger? |

Quiet Timeby cmangisComment by ccraft: I really like this shot. It does indeed look like a quiet place in the city and suits this challenge well. |

Quiet Timeby cmangisComment by andywightman: A very appealing image but like so many others in this challenge I am struggling to feel the silence. Peace and tranquility maybe in the heart of a city but this image does not speak to me of silence for the simple reason that cities are noisy places. Still it scores well for its composition. |

Quiet Timeby cmangisComment by DCThiessen: This definately conveys "silence" :) The only thing I might change is not having the person so centered in the shot. I would have had him on the right hand side of the photo, since he is looking toward the left. Good work. |
