A nice image, the model's expression seems a little distant and/or unhappy. Could be construed as lonely, so I think it fits the challenge well. The colors in the background look washed out and the harsh light blown out. Also, I'd prefer the model to be completely in focus, it seems a bit soft to me. I like the way the natural lighting brings out the glow in the skin, and the pose is very nice. 5

For some reason this photo looks a little squashed in from the sides, maybe it is just me after looking at too many photos. I like the pose here, especially with the effect of the wind blowing through her hair.

I don't think this woman looks at rest at all. Doesn't have a darn thing to do with culture or anything else except that it didn't meet the challenge. I too gave it a low score. As stated by others my criteria first off is to see if the photo meets the challenge. If anyone could just submit what they wanted then we could just have open contests every couple of days and you could shoot what you wanted.

Good framing and high technical quality. B&W and a solid white background works very well with this image. I gave it a 6.

The subject is both placed nicely and sitting. The subject is not moving. Perhaps there is cultural misinterpretation here, but this subject appears to me to emanate an inner aura of peace and confident calm that is difficult to capture in an image.

For me that means it meets the challenge. Apparently it does not for many others. That is to bad. This is a good shot and deserving of a much higher score.
