Pawns are the soul of chess. - Philidorby e10icusComment by colorcarnival: ok now, you have an interesting item in there that is surrounded by some less interesting pieces. this again should be about - what is my focal point? I'll PM you a pic of mine that would give you an idea of what to do. It would be about rearrangement and changing perspective and adding a little DOF. |

Abducted (5 meters from Contact)by e10icusComment by colorcarnival: This one is fun too and I'm glad to see it got a somewhat decent score. The more I look at your photos, the more I realize that people just aren't getting your humor lol. It seems to be a little quirky and off-beat, and the general population as a whole doesn't get that. I hope you don't ever lose that while shooting! |

Fear and Loathing on League Nightby e10icusComment by colorcarnival: Now this is pretty damn cool and I don't know why it would score that low. I do agree that the thing to the right is little bit in the way. It takes practice to look for these things when shooting. |

Radiant Pariahby e10icusComment by colorcarnival: Ok now based on our conversation, I'd say that this one is good with having your subject get the full attention. The two things I think need changing are that the post is a little soft (I'm guessing this was a hand-held shot)and you have this cyan-green stuff in the trees. This comes from playing with the saturation a bit too much.
As a suggestion, for a lower light setting, and with using an Olympus: You could actually go up to an ISO 400 and push for a little better shutter speed. This helps steady those hand held shots. Also, a lifesaver for all this noise that Oly puts out is to get Topaz Denoise 4. My pics have never looked better. |
