Very interesting take on the challenge. It is a 'garden' without being blatant about it. I really like the rich colors evident here, and it seems that you have done well at capturing the beauty of the place. My only gripe with the picture is the exposure. The lit part is almost blown out, yet the shadows complete hide any potential detail. I, for one, am not that good at adjusting or compensating for exposure (still learning this aspect), but jmsetzler and gordon are both very good at it. I am sure if you contacted them, they could give you some pointers on it, if you wanted it.

Compositionally, I like how the light on the floor attracts your attention and leads you out the gate. It is an interesting picture that really makes the viewer want to see more of this place, or learn about it.

Good work and best to you in future challenges.

Framing is good. Subject is a bit lacking, though. I would have preferred seeing more of interesting objects in the frame than just plants. Perhaps have someone actually BE there. BTW, is this Fort Ilocandia? I was there once and I absolutely loved the place. The beach however, was more for contemplation, rather than the normal kind of beach fun. It was very surfy and desolate (would really be a good subject for the challenge!) when I was there in October years ago (I think 1995). Seems like it's time for me for a second visit!
