Barkby popsComment by mcmurma: lighting here was very harsh, it washes out highlights and makes for some deep shadows, thus detracting from the image. softer light, such as that found on a bright but overcast day would have worked much better, i think. ~mcmurma Aesthetics...3 Meets Challenge...5 Overall...4 |

Barkby popsComment by wenyao: the lighting looks a little harsh to me, but it does bring out the peeling effect more. |

Barkby popsComment by Journey: Nice image. Like all the life in the bark and the play of lights and darks. |

Barkby popsComment by karmat: A bit much light on the left, I htink, and though it causes some nice shadowy areas, it almost washes out part of the bark. karmat |

Barkby popsComment by Gene L.: Nice texture on a good specimen. I would really like to see more in the shadow area. Maybe raising the gamma would accomplish this. I notice that the highlights are a bit hot. My thoughts are that you might shoot such a shot at a different time of day or try using a diffuser to even out the light. |
