I have some problems with your shot. I don't like how some of the for ground is unnaturally blue. You lack detail in the trees this may just be because you were shooting into the sun. Also I don't know what is happening behind those trees. Have a look at some of the other entries to get some ideas on how to improve.

I expected this to do better but here are my thoughts while judging it:
She doesn't look comfortable in the glare of the full sun.
Although she's pretty and wearing make-up, her hair looks dishevelled.
The direct sunlight is too harsh.

Tips: If you buy a hairstyle magazine you will find around 500 portrait photos. This may give you inspiration for lighting and posing ideas.
Try looking at the portrait gallery here at DPC.
Try looking for 'outdoor portrait techniques' on YouTube.

Not sure what you were trying to show us here. She looks suspicious or maybe bitter, but that doesn't really jive with anything else in your composition. Maybe work harder to get your subject more at ease with the camera -- i.e. to get a more natural, relaxed pose.
