Great desolate image here. I would comment on the lower left detail being included - I don't think it adds anything, but it definitely distracts me from the intended focal point which is the house on the "island".

You could have cropped out the beach and surf in the foreground but you didn't and I think that was a great decision. It adds something to the shot, so thanks for leaving it in. The photo could be a little bit clearer with slightly more contrast. Nice job.

Certainly desolate but at the same time not a truly compelling image. But I think it can be very hard to show desolation and at the same time keep the image really interesting. I do like the diagonal at the bottom of the sea shore and would like to see it a little higher in the frame.
I think I'd also prefer the position of the horizon to be a touch higher or lower - it's a little close to middle for my tastes in this shot.
Still a nice image though.
