Broken Promisesby phiggins24Comment by Paul: I see you've asked for some comments; so i'll try to offer some. Though the comment below from pictureperfect may not be particularly constructively composed, the central point is probably true. If you want your images to score well, you would probably do well to ask your self 'Would someone put this on their wall - or at least have it as there desktop wallpaper' - if the answer is no, then it is unlikely to do well.
Your chosen subject aside, the composition could be a lot better, the negative space at the top in particular and the angle at which you are addressing the subject - as I have found to my peril, images that are very flat without much sense of depth tend to do badly.
I presume that the vignetting around the edge is a consequence of shooting with a wide angle - it can be reduced in PP but not without knowing the process and I'm no expert. |

Please Play with Meby phiggins24Comment by citymars: Looks like a sweet pup. It's hard to shoot a black animal against such a bright background. Looks like you used a flash, and the light is kind of flat. From this close it would be nice to see some texture in the fur. |

Please Play with Meby phiggins24Comment by eschelar: There's a precious expression in the dog's face. This would be better if it were cropped down to place the dog's eyes on the top third with just a small patch of light in the top right hand corner. This accentuates the eyes/face/expression and would increase the DPC display size. |
