Sky Roseby lisaeComment by dsidwell: What a super idea to have the rose backlit by the blue sky. You've managed to keep the gentleness of the light and the rose throughout. What an accomplishment. This image really shows off your skills at capturing light without having it burn the photo. The leaves here take a little too much of the focus here, but I'll forgive that as I gaze at the light from this flower! |

Sky Roseby lisaeComment by kandyj: It would have been nice to see the light flow through the flower as well as the leaf. |

Sky Roseby lisaeComment by adine: great angle on a rose - it glows with the filtered sunlight, crowned by the leaves. Much more interesting than direct light. Might crop the bottom and loose the unimportant bud (rose hip?) |

Transcendental Numberby lisaeComment by justine: CC Hello Lisae
Fits The Challenge-Yes
Composition-Good
Background-Really nice.
My Opinion-Yes, a lot of processing for this shot. Your extra effort not only paid off here but it shows. Only two negative points to make: The very top is not straight, and the space at the bottom. I do love negative space in shots, but don't think it adds here. The colors are great. The idea unique and so special for the challenge. Good work. |

Transcendental Numberby lisaeComment by lisae: Thanks for all the comments! I know the photo has its faults, in aligning the numbers, etc. However, the transparency was clipped to some glass, which I stood up in the sand, and then I hollowed out a space for my camera in front of it (put a towel down to keep it safe :)). Because of this, I couldn't see the LCD screen at all, so it took a lot of trial and error just to get it this well aligned!
If I'd had time to reshoot, maybe it would have turned out better. |
