To me, blood and death do not equal peace, even if the bird has gone on to his eternal rest. This particular image conveys violence with all the blood, and the selective desat just emphasizes the gore. I feel much more uncomfortable than peaceful gazing at it. Technically it is an effective image; I just don't find that it meets the challenge topic at all for me.

A dead bird with blood does NOT seem peaceful to me. The harsh lighting and selective desat both work against my seeing anything peaceful in this image.
