| 02/05/2013 10:44:26 AM | Flight of the Lemonby vawendyComment: Poor Charles never saw it coming. From out of the mists, striking with a speed and ferocity unmatched, the dreaded (and, some thought, mythical) Hammerheaded Hawk attacked. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/05/2013 10:39:28 AM | Look to the Heavensby izadoodleComment: The King of Beasts looked up to the heavens. The most powerful in the jungle. The Tyrant of the Savannah, The Prince of the Pride.
So why, why did he have to put up with all the nagging from HER. "I do all the hunting, cooking, cleaning, raise the cubs, patrol the grounds, yadda yadda yadda." How he wished she would just shut up!
King indeed, and there were FIVE of them.
Not for the first time, he wished he had been born a Hyena. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/05/2013 10:33:13 AM | 10th Street at Dawnby LawtonComment: In the wake of their team's dismal start to the shortened season, fueled by anger over the lock-out and subsequent ongoing labour dispute, the Fans of the city of Calgary finally turned their team's nickname literal. They were the Flames, and so the Saddledome burned. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/02/2013 09:20:17 PM | Morning Catchby Tommy_MacComment: Although one might think it would be an incredible talent, Jim's ability to fish in Super-speed never really amounted to much. Indeed, he was the laughing stock of the Superhero community.
Then again, at least he wasn't George, he of the ability to project an orange dot on the wall. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/02/2013 09:16:56 PM | The Art of Landingby scooter97Comment: Charise just rolled her eyes and shook her head. Every time. EVERY time. As soon as the photographer showed up, Arnold would inevitably try to show off with "Jazz Hands".
She sighed, what was worse is that he thought everyone was laughing WITH him. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/02/2013 09:16:00 PM | A School of Puffins!by SaraRComment: "... And then, you won't believe it, after he saved the nest, after he saved it, he, I'm serious, he FLEW away. He flew! Like a super-hero! I'M SERIOUS."
They all just looked at him, and blinked a few times, but nobody ever had the heart to tell him. They had to hear a new story like this every day, but they could never bring themselves to tell him. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/02/2013 09:02:13 PM | Old Chairby photokopComment: At the end, all he had was the memories.
The young couple so much in love, that had purchased him for their newlywed home. Their passion and happiness, in the beginning, had filled him with pride and joy.
The children that came later, to climb over him and play games like hide and seek, giggling as they hid behind.
The stories told to toddlers in laps.
The caresses given in love and companionship.
The quiet afternoons in font of the fire, with one or another relaxing upon him with a good book.
The comfort given as she sat and cried, curled up, lamenting the loss of her beloved.
The endless nights knitting for the grandchildren.
The glorious return of childhood when those grandchildren would visit.
The final days, when she became sick and spent so much time within his cushion.
In the end, all he had were the memories, and they were all he needed. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/02/2013 08:53:50 PM | Danielby HalldorIngiComment: It was in the dark, at the end of the day, when it was hardest. When the weight of the world settled in on him. When he felt he had no-one to talk to, nowhere to turn. When the trials of school, and the other kids, who were always so cruel, became so much to bear.
But he wouldn't give in to the pain. He wouldn't give in to the tears. And while his eyes betrayed a sadness and anger within, he would remain stoic. He would fight through. He would have strength no matter how much the darkness closed in.
He would FIND the light, and he would persevere. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/02/2013 08:48:35 PM | The Alchemistby fadriComment: When their windswept bones were found, some years later, facing apart with som distance between them, the rest of the herd could never figure out how these two, who had been so much in love, could end up in such a way.
The answer, had it ever been discovered, was simpler than they could ever imagine. Indeed, these two were a tragedy, and it never needed to happen. All Arnold ever needed to do was stop to ask directions. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/01/2013 09:25:17 PM | Where is everybody?by bjoernComment: In the middle of the night, long after all had gone home, long after all was quiet, would she suddenly awake. She would awaken with sadness in what passed for her heart. With longing. And with this awakening she would find the strength and power to start up, independent of the little beings that controlled her in the day, and she would begin to spin. To spin and laugh her silent laughter. To envision forms filling her swings, laughing with her, talking to her, sharing in her joy.
And she would spin until the first light of dawn spilled upon the horizon.
And she would spin until she knew she could spin no more before THEY came back.
And she would spin. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
