I thought about trying something similar, but decided against as a) I wasn't sure I could find the equivalent toy, b) wasn't sure whether I could a good enough angle on the toy, and a wide enough depth of field.

I think you've pulled it off pretty well, I'd preferred to have seen something more from the toy's perspective, with it taking up as much space on the final capture as the real car...

Nice shot, it's quite un-DPC (a good thing IMO!) not to have notched the saturation up in post processing to the point where the colours were blinding, and similar in terms of unsharp mask. Sadly I think this may lose you a little in overall score - I think you needed to go a little further with both to make the image "pop" at this size.
