- A Developing Skyline -by andrewtComment: CONGRATS ON 5TH.Great image, I love it and choose it as a fav. Although I did not vote in this challenge...as I glanced over the entries, this one stood out. Now that it is over, I was very disappointed to see how many are giving out 1s 2s and 3s to "what IMO look like winners" This could have pulled in a ribbon had the low scorers surpressed their jealousy or whatever was going on with them. I repeat the comment of hahn23. This stood out as one to meet the challenge exactly. Great control (avoidance)of whites and blacks. Had I voted, this would have received a 9 or even 10 from me, and I give out only a few of these per challenge if any sometimes. But I will not give out a 1-2 and rarely a 3. If a photo is an apparent smack in the face to the challenge or voting community, I do not give it a low score, I just don't vote on it. But again that is an entrant that seems to be going out of their way be to go against the grain or rules etc.etc. I see too many great or good shots ending up with these 1s AND 2s. Yours did not deserve this. |

Still life, San Fransicoby hajekaComment: Such a pitty so many voters gave you 1's and 2's etc, I wonder if more out of lack of knowledge with all of AA'S work. You took a chance on an obscure image of his and produced an image with clarity, more than I can say about some that landed in the 6's. Bravo to you. This IMO should have scored higher. |

Bad Hair Dayby TDCollinsComment: I did not vote in this challenge but as I was looking at the entries, this one stopped me in my tracks. The eyes are very mesmerizing. This would be a good photo for the CENTERED challenge. Maybe focusing more on the eyes and fading out all around the eyes more toward the frame. You were robbed in the scoring. |

Scotlandby Rino63Comment: This is a shame IMO, that you did not get a higher rating. This was one of my 9's. I like it very much. A lot of contrast, varied lighting, rule of thirds with a diagonal leading lines up and down the landscape. The clouds feel very heavy with the light trying to prevail and the inocent sheep stand by. Glorius. |

High and Dry by BradComment: This was my favorite; I did not vote on the challenge but had to call my husband to show him this great shot. I told him that I would give this better than a 10. Beautiful and mesmerizing. I just made it a favorite. Congrats on your ribbon. |

Southwest Rocks Beachby WinkComment: Very nice, soft and soothing but contrasting as well. Very artsy IMO. Color, composition and lighting make this a winner. Message edited by author 2007-08-15 02:40:34. |
