Hotby vladoComment: Everything is good here except that poll on his right arm, actually I would have liked to see more of that arm. It knocked you down from an 8 to a 7. But this is a tremendous shot. |

Hairby markwileyComment: Since I knew there was going to be a shot like this, does that mean I should vote it less? Or should I vote it high as it was technically well done? It's tough. I like the lines, so you won me over. |

Waiting for the Rain to Stopby franktheyankComment: The best portrait in this set. Beautiful tones. Good mix of textures. Necklace and belt give the subject some good definition (as well as the brilliant slight of leg). The way the umbrella's poles doesn't intrude on the background... it shows you have mad skills. It's a 9. 10 if the expression is were slightly different (I bet some of the outtakes had better facial expressions, but likely missed on the other key components... just a guess). Good luck to you. |

GN5C0136by jrobinson0Comment: A very convincing light shot. 2nd place in regards to candids in this group. Good lighting and gestures of the subjects. Not sure on the title? Solid 8. |

Chrysanthemumby paynekjComment: The best still life of the group. Wondrous detail and lighting. Not too much to complain about here (maybe just a tad exposure where the stem turns to petals (whatever that is called scientifically). Still a solid 8. |

Timelessby maccoComment: One of the better landscapes in this challenge. Would have been and 8-10 perhaps if it were cropped to 8x10 or 1x1 to get rid of the bright light on the left. I think it is the only area that takes away from the otherwise marvelous shot. Really enjoy the composition of the peak on the right. It's good (at a 7). Good luck to you. |

Moored Boat and Kelpby namComment: My favorite 'still life' of the bunch. Great colors, lines and detail. And as for composition, you have managed to both keep the eye in the frame and outside the frame. A hard thing to do except for the masters. Because of that, 10! |

Hot noodlesby wei1108Comment: This is my 2nd favorite 'candid' in the group. The car in the background takes it away for me (though I do like the boot). I prefer the processing/toning on this one compared to the other candid. The expression and details are enormous. Gave you an 8 (with that car out of the frame likely a 9 or 10). Still splendid. |

Searching For Details by thesaint77shComment: At least this shot knows how to use the frame.
But at most:
Good detail (very good detail).
Terrific light.
Good concept.
Congrats on the Ribbon too! Message edited by author 2013-02-04 13:28:11. |
