Blown Awayby MinsoPhotoComment: Okay, you are the last image. That was the most painful voting process I have went through in a long time. At least this image has some semblance of wind.
It's actually not a bad shot. I am glad I landed on it last (not necessarily the best, but convincing). Good expression, and that hair, it is really going places. I like the pink with the green tint. But not the fact of the cut off hand... oh well. It's a good shot. 7 (though normally a 6 I would say, but I am jaded now after voting).
Thank you so much for ending this voting nightmare on a semi high note. |

Into the Windby tvsometimeComment: Is this into the wind or into the air? Or is it into the clouds?
I don't get it.
It's a good picture with a nice sense of scale. But where is the wind? |

brook in winterby dragonladyComment: This is one great abstract, my favorite in the challenge in that field. Wonderful variation in textures and the two tone palette works will here. So many nice lines. I hope it does well for you as it is a very engaging piece. |

The Happy Smile Hidden behind Her Handsby TiberiusComment: Okay--you know how to frame a shot, but this is more... it is a mastery of the moment. It's using the correct color palette; it is using a sense of depth; and mostly--it is a touch of humanity. Nicely done. |

Handsby OzComment: The light on the subject (hands) does it for me. But I feel the compositional elements (cars) on the left just pull me away from the shot. Not enough to reduce you from a score of 9, but something that prevents perfection. |

Hickory and Hornbeamby skewsmeComment: Good light, scary trees, it all adds up to a good score. I know hickory, but I'll take you word on the hornbeam. Cheers. |

hospitalby jmritzComment: Such a good abstract. So good.
The descending black square/circle/head.
The play of light and dark
The bucket.
The hard cut of light.
It is really a piece which keeps you there.
But I'm torn with the grain...it's harder to justify these days; I would be curious to see what it would looked like with reduced sharpness/clarity so you get the same effect just without the noise.
I'm still giving you an 8. |

Hydrangea in Winter, Hie Jinja Japanby noranekoComment: I like hydrangeas. I enjoy detail and the color blue is so soothing.
Blue hydrangeas are better than the pink ones anyways, but I like that you still have some color on this one in winter (must live southish). Good job. Gave you a 7, likely higher if the blob on the bottom left were removed. |
