Mineral de nuestra señora de la Candelaria.by shoko-valensiComment: The lower part of the frame is WAY too dark. The sky looks like it may have made for a good potential sunset, but this shot doesn't say "night" to me. That very well could be the moon behind the hill, but it isn't obvious to me. |

Night Riderby Fairfield20Comment: Though this shot is technically taken at night, it really lacks interest. It looks to me like a snapshot taken with a flash. One thing I can tell you is that voters are BRUTAL if they encounter photos that look like snapshots. Try and use a creative composition and subject matter in the future. Just my $.02. :) |

Power Outageby MuppetComment: The glow from a candle can make a great light source, but you have to be REALLY careful not to include the candle or you get blown-out highlights (like you have here). Also, I find that it helps to reduce the color temperature closer to a Tungsten white balance to cool down the warm tones slightly. |

Step into The Futureby rdlorfComment: From the very dim posts, I can see that this composition had potential. However, it is WAY too dark. Next time, try doing a much longer exposure. |

Down by the Dockby ScholtenComment: I like the way the water looks here, but the lights seem a bit too harsh. I might have done a slightly shorter exposure. Also, it would have been awesome if you had lit the foreground rocks with a colored flash of some sort. :) |

Caterpillarby Postgate1Comment: I like the creative light-painting here, but the lighting is a bit uneven and slightly distracting. Flashlights are good for smaller areas, but I've had better luck with using a flash for even lighting (especially with colored gels :) ). Good composition though and very creative. :) |

Got A Light?by pvan340Comment: I like the concept of someone lighting a cigarette, but the fence and background seem a bit distracting to me. If I had taken this type of shot, I probably would have used a black background and moved in much closer to the subject to fill the frame with her head and hands as she lit the cigarette. |
