Interesting. I'm not sure what I'm trying to look at as many of the red parts of the flower (what are they called again?) compete as some are in the DOF and some arent'. Maybe a little deeper DOF would solve that.
The green in the top right also competes.

You seem to have an eye for these moody shots. All of them I've seen have this "dusky" thing going on. l

Another of your contrasting images? Maybe I'm just reading into that (as per the white church shot).
Anyways, the old, broken pump and the pretty new bridge. Good coloring.
Might like to see more of the bridge to the right so it doesn't run into the pump.

One thing I'm finding that I like is intimate, warm photos. This, to me is one of those. There's something intimate about the solitude impressed on me with this.
Great exposure to not overexpose shooting straight at the sun. Nice contrast too.

This is a nice contrast between the "pristine" church building and the rundown one across the street. The position of the sun washes out the sky and perhaps that was the intention. The detail in the spires suffers for it.
It makes me wonder what this image would be taken with favorable lighting conditions (ie, not backlit) and then desating the sky.
I like the natural framing with the palm and building.
