Night-Time Trafficby md8speedComment: If the challenge were skylines. This would be a great image. I love the San Francisco skyline. |

CityLife_Torontoby laindComment: Challenge
- Relevant to the Challenge? Yes
- Is subject unique (vs. unoriginal or rehashed)? Yes
Compostion
- Good or Bad? How can it be fixed? Bad. Rotate so that the tracks go diagonally across the image or have them straight. Actually, I just spotted the road going diagnal. Make the rails go straight accross. The high viewpoint is a challenging composition, because we are not used to seeing things from this angle.
- Is there anything that should be removed? The are several bits along the edges that draw the eye away.
- Is there anything missing? A focal point. What should me eye be drawn to?
What is my reaction or feelings? It doesn't really grab me. I like high viewpoint images, because they are unusual, but there is no hook in this image. |

Trafficby SteveinnzComment: Relevant to the Challenge? Yes
Is subject unique (vs. unoriginal or rehashed)? Yes
Compostion, Good or Bad? Good, however, I would crop a bit off the right side so the the tower was less dominant and the bottom to remove some of he indistinguishable bits. I do have a question about what you mean to have as the focus of the image -- the people, the taxis, or the market. Good Depth of Field.
Good use of light? Mostly. The one sign in the upper right is over-exposed due to the reflected sun, but the shadows are good. Nothing is blocked-up.
What is my reaction or feelings? I want to go to this market and wander about. This image draws me in. |

City in the Mountainsby gr8daneComment: Relevant to the Challenge? Mixed feelings. One could argue that citylife should actually show LIFE/LIVING/LIVELINESS.
Is subject unique? Yes
Compostion: Good or Bad? How can it be fixed? The focus should be the mountains and the city. The tree and lit road draw the eye away from the city and mountain. Is there anything else that should be removed? I'm not fond of the intersection and traffic light, personal preference.
Good use of Depth of Field? Yes
Good use of light? Yes and no. I like the natural light on the mountains. Good Exposure time, but the overblown headlight trail detracts from the image.
What is my reaction or feelings? The mountains are very majestic, but the city seems to be an afterthought. The bottom 1/4 make the image average.

Half Past Nineby Dax-Comment: I agree with the under-rated aspect. It's a work of art with the tip of the hour hand and number 9 in focus and standing apart from the rest of the image. The colors are rich and the shadows are excellent.
I gave you a 9 and it's already in my favorites.
