Challenge or not, that is a great motorsports shot. Anytime you can get them at speed and can see the pilots face and particularly eyes, you have captured a great racing shot.

I don't want to sound mean, but this just doesn't cut it to me.

The only link to journalism is the title, and even it isn't very descriptive (what bet, with whom, why are elected officials gambling, etc.)

Without the title, I'd think, "Oh, an out of focus shot of plastic flamingos."

Look at the others you are up against and ask yourself honestly whether this one is up to par as a good shot and as showing any real hint of journalism.

This looks like it could be a movie poster. Very strong shot and very good capture of news happening. This has a great balance of being journalistic while also being a strong photograph. One of my highest rated in the challenge.
