You have captured life here; in fact, this photo is itself life (not reflecting life, but being life itself). And like life, everyone wants to understand it, we break it down, so that we can articulate something about the individual elements, the light, the darkness, the shadows, the powder, the almost hint of smile on the girl . . . we want to be able to say how they fit, because trying to understand the whole is beyond us. We follow the signs, looking for answers as to what it all means. But how does it all fit? Like life, how does that death from cancer fit? How does that accident fit? How does that war fit? How does that genocide fit? How does that newborn fit? How does that dance or that song fit? This image has certainly made me think, Svetlana. Thank you.

I love the feeling of desolation this portrays, the way in which each part, no matter where you turn, emphasizes and reemphasizes this feeling of isolation. The texture works well here as simply an additional element of the shot, not overpowering it, but working on the same plane as the rest of the elements. Great.

Interesting. Angular lines here, driving my eye through the image in a "z" shape, in at the upper left, out at the lower right. I like the green space on the upper right, too.

Why is it that the thing I fear most in this shot is the tree at the back? Excellent.

Definitely a good idea to post this in the Reaction Club. My reaction: She is moving from the light, coming back from playing in the brightness, and she really needs to concentrate to come back to this mix of darkness, shadows, lines and space. Maybe she'll go and visit again, but daddy's waiting, so she's trying really hard to get back before dinner . . .

The dark eyes, the sharp teeth, that's all that's really here, and just that, and it fits; just the spirit of the beast. The rest of it as it is often perceived, if perception is the right word, the fur, the tale, even the body, are whisps here, insubstantial and unsubstantiated, merely memories of our limited vision.

It's excellent; if I tip my screen (I only have a laptop; I know, sacrilege, but still), it changes. One way, there is more detail, but tons more noise; tipped another, and almost all the detail and light is gone except for the bright spot on the wall straight back, with soft light emanating from around it and light shadows of the people there . . . I could play this game all day :)

One quick question: did you rotate this? If you did, there's a slice of light left in the upper left and two slices in the lower right, both inside the border (I tried to see whether they somehow "fit," but if they do, I couldn't see it).

Wonderful.

This so captures the start of autumn, as the leaves start to change, but the rest of the world still looks summery. Nice.

Well seen and captured, I love the one green star so strongly in focus in the upper right as a balance to the generally downward flow provided by the soft focus stars; the papery appearance of the white leaves is great.

So many perfect elements here, the flashes of light and color, the naturally monotone-ish areas in the lower center/left, the off-kilter horizon, the people "appearing" out of the steam, and all of it fading so perfectly into that patch of blue and cloud at the top-left. Congrats on a great finish for a great shot, I wouldn't change a thing.
