This Is My Lifeby JudiComment: This is one powerful image. Your lighting on your subject is technically excellent as you've got under the hat and shown all of the face. I do like the way that you have darked off the background. It's unnatural but a really good visual effect that doesn't detract from the result but enhances it. You do have a halo around his right shoulder where the mask is and that might cost you a point or two in the voting. |

THE BOXERby pawdrixComment: Strong image, powerful. Great clarity in your subject and then having the Bar sign behind establishes the environment perfectly. Could illustrate a feature magazine article with ease |

Jim Talin, Master Bookbinderby Bear_MusicComment: Now this is just whaat the challenge ordered. The environment is interesting and you have ensured that we can see that by lighting and including it in focus. the lighting here is brilliant. I know it looks casual and it might be but it is even across the whole portrait including the subject with just a stop difference. I don't know if this is going to score well but it should for it extreme technical competence. I was going to be bugged by the centreed composition but the overall effect of he image over-rode that. This deserves to be a full page illustration in a magazine article |

Watching footballby Ragga2000Comment: Ahhh, very very good. It has a surreal look to it but it works. The lighting is strong and direct but that serves to isolate the subjects. I hope this does well |

The soft side of metalby hroiComment: Great study, well composed and has great light. Sharp too which couldn't have been easy in that environment |

The Off-Track Writerby youngnovaComment: I love the title and the environment which are complimented by good composition and DOF. I'm bothered by what appears to be slight loss of sharpness around his mouth and am wondering if this was sharpened after reduction |

Inspector # 8by jrtoddComment: I want this to be a high-scoring shot but there's something that's holding it back and I don't know what it is - been studying it for ages too |
