At the End of the Branch - One Perfect Rose

Comment:
Doesn't fit the challenge imo since there's no indication (apart from the title) that there's a branch involved in this shot at all. A subtle and beautiful shot otherwise.

I like the DOF here. Not keen on the desat, there's other untidy splashes of green left in the left. I kinda think it's being used here to try and spice up an otherwise uninteresting shot though. Could be stronger with the original colours.

I love the shape and 'pose' of this branch. A good find. But, the horizon bang on centre is unadvisable (think rule of thirds) the composition could be improved as the overlaying of elements and positions doesn't help their relation with each other. and the aperture should be closed an f-stop or more to broaden the focus along the whole of the 'armour branch'.

A great pose, and very well composed, but such a pity you missed the sunlight and it's shrouded in shadows. What does the title mean?

The figure is out of focus, and the B&W just flattens the ground making it all seem evenly grassy and not 'well worn' at all.

Strong from on the branch, and good use of line to break it up and add interest, but the crop is too tight and makes it upclear what's attached to the branch.

Must have been a really long exposure for something as slow as a caterpillar to blur like that.

Could have pulled the narrow focal range out a bit so it catches the branch rather than just the stem of the petals.

A clever shot, very subtle, although maybe a little too difficult to determine what's going on. I initially thought it was a reflection in a window, but the writing isn't backwards. I really like the layering of the light and silhouettes though.

Comment:
The horizon line is tilted and seems very central. The stripes on the wall are distractiing too.
