Red lips againby unnevaComment: Verulega flott mynd, fÃn pæling, myndbygging, förðun og litir (kannski smá ýktir þó) og eiginlega best à keppninni (já, lÃka talsvert betri en hjá Lalla vini mÃnum). Vel gert!
Well done Unneva, I thought it was the best photograph in the challenge! |

Miss Tri-Citiesby lkn4truthComment: First of all, I don't like how you cut off a portion of the logo to the left. The subject is also not quite interesting - I think I would have liked it better had you shown either a larger portion of the subject or perhaps used another angle instead of straight on. |

Grandma's kitchen by kiwinessComment: Nice, I like the angle and the window. I would like to have some definition in the shadow area to the right though.. |

Anno 1870 by AnastasiaComment: Really nice, I quite like the sheeps on the lawn and the color treatment. I'm perhaps not absolutely sure but I somehow feel the sky is a bit overdramatic for my taste. Still it's quite a cool picture. Good luck! |

Estd 1824. Aged 12 Years in oak casks. Exquisitely smooth.by PurpleFireComment: I don't like the red color cast - could be fixed with quite many tools in Photoshop etc, such as using the levels tool and move the sliders for the green and blue channels to the left. It would have been nice had there been slightly more space above the bottle.
I think it would also have made for a much nicer image had you poured a bit of the wine in a wineglass and placed it in front and to the left or right of the bottle. The photo is a bit uninteresting as it is and it's often better to have a bit of a space to the sides for vertical subjects. |

Florens cum Vepresby EnnilComment: You should've won! This is by far the best picture in the challenge (although the 3rd place is also quite neat).
Anyway, you obviously have talent and I wish you all the best in your photography pursuits in the future. I think you could become pretty good if you continue with [your as of yet] hobby. :-) Message edited by author 2006-03-13 14:45:58. |

Florens cum Vepresby EnnilComment: Terrific image and my favorite in the challenge. I love how it seems there is a reflection of a flower in her eye - gives the picture a certain quality and shows how it is well thought out. Wouldn't hurt though if there was only a slight detail showing in her left eye and if the hair would obscure it sligtly less. I like how you lit the background and the high-key look on the face.
Good luck - I hope you get the blue! |

Out of nowhereby LalliSigComment: I don't understand why this picture got disqualified. As far as I can tell there was no spot editing although Larus did use the vignetting tool in the Adobe Camera RAW converter. I feel it extremely difficult to understand how that can be called 'spot editing' and for that matter I've used it in a basic challenge myself - //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=271074
I hope this judgement will be reconsidered, at least if the vignetting was the sole reason for the disqualification. |

Happyby owenComment: The face is slightly yellowish. It would have been nice to have a catchlights in the eyes or if the eyes were slightly brighter. I think the face should be a bit brighter.
It would also have been nice had the background been more interesting instead of almost totally white.
I like the composition though. |
