I just love your choice of subject. Faded velour couches definitely evoke a strong sense of nostalgia (at least for me). I think contrast is the main issue here. For example, is there a way that you could have emphasized the difference between the faded and not-so-faded partch of the fabric (perhaps more sharpening?). I really think you have a good image here but that it needs a little bit of a boost from post-processing.

Personally, I like you choice of subject matter (old rusty metal parts). I also think you've captured an impressive amount of detail in your subject and really given us a sense of it's 'texture'. I like it. The two issues I have with this pic are 1) Exposure. The top part of the pipe is too underexposed. 2) Background. It's just too bright for my taste. I would have chosen something that provides more contrast to the colours of the pipe. 3) Cropping. I can't really say what I would want, since I don't know what the actual pipe looks like. But maybe you could have shown more of it? But again, I like this pic.

Choice of subject matter not bad, but pic suffers terribly from boring lighting. You should choose lighting that reveals the 3-D proberties of your subject better. Plus, the yellow think in the bottom right corner is a distraction.

Great subject (i'll admit to a weakness for rusty metal) and the photo is almost very good, IMO, except that you DOF is a bit too small. I would have liked to see more of the wire in focus. Also the part that is in focus is too dark. Plus the composition/cropping could be improved. But nice nonetheless.

This pic looks really overprocessed and that really puts me off. Too unrealistic for me.

You should have cropped out the background. It's just too plain and that shadow is really ugly and distracting. If you had filled your frame with the coloured things you would have gotten a much better picture!

This is probably not a very helpful comment, but this picture, for me, just doesn't have a 'grab' element. My feeling is that you don't have enough contrast here, or that the pic is overexposed.

Overexposure is the main problem here. I'm sure you could bring out more details if you'd decreased the exposure.

This is just my personal opinion, but I like 'texture' pics to have both an element of familiarity but at the same time also be a bit disorienting. I'd like to be able to say 'I know what that is' as well as 'I never knew it could look like this'. My main problem with this picture is that I'm just not sure what it's supposed to be a picture of. It looks to me that this could have been entirely computer-generated, although I'm guessing (mainly from the title) that it's a picture of a tire. But I think your technique is good.

This picture doesn't adress the challenge very well, I think. Colors are also washed out and composition has too many distracting elements. It is an interesting shot, though.
