Solitudeby kearockComment: I really like the "feel" of the ground. The red letters almost seem to spell out "HELP" and beg further notice from the viewer.
The lighting also works well, coming from an imaginary window perhaps... The image does convey the idea of solitude but I'm curious as to how other angles might work as well? A low to the ground angle perhaps or an even higher one... A higher shooting angle might create an even deeper disconnect with the chair and all that it stands for?
Nice composition and lighting. PS: I also liked the first one you posted for this thread... Great subdued and yet somehow vibrant colors! |

Grapefruit Deconstructedby DrAchooComment: I like the original subject and the simple and uncluttered composition. A different orientation of the light might have made the flesh of the fruit look more transluscent and appealing? Great texture though! |

Lips #1by skylenComment: great close up and texture! You can even see and feel the texture on the gums and enamel. Well done, you made a hard photo to take look so effortless (great lighting, colors, focus...). Good luck! |

Snowbaby Prayersby carlijustineComment: Great angle and depth of field. The bits of pixalation and over sharpening (?) detract a bit from the beauty and simplicity of this photo. Very original and amazing composition! well done. |

Rain Drops on Rosesby MinutiaComment: After a second look, I'm bumping it a point more! Wonderful water drop texture and colors! This depth of focus gives the photo a lot of dimensions, in addition to the ripples of petals weaving in and out of the picture.
well done. I hope you get in the top ten! |

The Bootby jpetersComment: One of the best pics of the challenge...Wonderful texture and nice depth of field (although in my opinion, having more of the shoe in focus, either more of the lace area or more of the front tear would increase the texture feel even more?)
But even the bit of ground adds to the gritty feel!
Very well done. I hope you score high! |

flying freeby ursulaComment: Nice shot! I like that she's barefoot! The composition is great and the blury background adds a nice effect although it might be a bit over bluried? Conveys well the idea of independence, especially the barefeet part :)
I often am curious how some photos look in black and white? It helps take the focus away from the colors of the subject's clothes, the background...and puts it on the action or the composition...
In any case, well done

Soloby HighwayFlowerComment: I really like the concept of this photo...of someone going their own way. The white fence/road moving "up ahead" helps with the idea as does the guitar! But I do wonder if it might work better in black and white? Also, not much you could do about that but to me, the telephone poles (?) break the solitary "magic" of the photo...
Well done |
