The Underworldby CutterComment: I really like the originality of this photo and the fact that the walkers are on the right side and their images on the left (I assume it's opposite of the way most people would have shot it or fliped it)!
The crop does seem just a tad too tight...but I think the tilted earth reference point works very well here as does the contrast...Well done! |

A Delicate Balanceby ColeyComment: What a wonderful idea and such an original one at that...I bet that at the next illusion challenge, someone will try this take! I think the composition works well and the blury background helps but IMHO, the right side with the fence takes away from the magic...I think it might have worked better if the entire background was the leaves or maybe even sky or a neutral backdrop...But congrats on your photo! well done |

BIG brother! by les0910Comment: What a wonderful photo! The kids must have had a blast helping you out! I've seen this sort of example in the "tutorial" section but your photo seems even harder to create since the background is all black and the girl is actually equally lit compared to the boy...
The expression on their faces is priceless and the set up perfect! great lighting, composition and execution! I hope you finish high up!!
(The only tiny thing I might have changed is his bracelet which distracts a bit from their faces...)
oh and the squarish crop works well here! |

P o i s e dby ergoComment: What an amazing shot! The illusion is perfect and so is the composition. What an original idea. I like how the jeans create an added component of contrast... I hope you ribbon!
I do wonder how the image would look with the water still blue?? |

Sent with Love, from Aboveby roadrunnerComment: I really like this photo!!! The set up, the pinkish/purple hue to the sky, the way the baby seems to hang weightless in the sky... 10 !!!
The only minor thing I might have changed (IMHO) would have been the bit of background at the bottom. I think that an even lower angle where the adult's feet are more even with the horizon might have increased the contrast of the entire body...but that's so minor! Wonderful photo!!! well done...hope you ribbon |

L Girl On Her Way Downby marmalade1121Comment: Thank you for your comment.
I wanted to repay the favor and comment on one of yours. Like everyone else, I LOVED your Moody Broody Beauty entry but I also really liked this one. I love the expression on her face and the black and white works very well as does the soft focus.
There are two small distracting things in the photo that could get cropped out (in my own humble opinion :) A bit of the left end side of the photo and a tiny sliver on the right side (the left hand corner is hard to figure out and took my eyes away from the main image and the top most right hand corner also distracted my eye...). I do like the empty space on the right side of the photo though!
Very well done! She'll be happy to have that photo when she grows up!!! |

Bath ~ Roomby MatthewComment: Great concept and execution!!! the composition works well although placing the tub away from the center might create more eye movement for the viewer. Well done and nice contrast!! |

Emptinessby nico_blueComment: I love the subdued colors and the mild shadows. You can really imagine yourself in this room. The composition is amazing as well (the lone clock, the middle chair abutting the one for the lefty, the paint on the board, even the black corner works!!!)
The only thing I can think of would maybe to tilt the image so that the top line above the blackboard is straight (I think either straight or much more tilted would work best....but this is such a minor detail!)
Very well done!!!!! Hope you get a ribbon!!! |

Flame Stallionby ArtysteComment: Your photo caught my eye!
It really does look like a stallion! Since this is not a challenge, you could burn/darken the log and the bit of flame on the left-most side since these two things distract a bit from the main image. IMHO, because this is a somewhat sureal photo, no need to "anchor" it with a recognizable part such as a log...
Great contrast and color. well done! |
