Aquatic Wavesby sherpetComment: Beautiful. It looks like the bottom is a perfect reflection on water of the top half. I'd like to play around with this concept when I find the time. Just added it to my favorites. |

Golden Lotus at McKee Botanical Gardensby rox_roxComment: I believe that is a lotus flower (not quite sure of the name) on a Chinese ornamental banana plant. I'll look it up and update this post.
edit to add: yep, you got it right, the one on that website in your PM is exactly what this is. Message edited by author 2006-04-17 15:44:59. |

View from the Afterlifeby PrincessEComment: This was difficult shot in which to get the exposure right. Next time you go to Metrozoo let me know, I'm fifteen minutes away and I was there twice this week. |

The Christmas Cardby SandyPComment: I apologize. I originally posted this when my son was logged on the computer, and I didn't realize it.
I just added this to my favorites (and if you check, I have relatively few faworites). Viewing this picture simply makes me feel good inside. I think that says it all and says enough. But, here's more. I really, really like this and I'm envious enough to fly northwest to try to find my own. Nice job. |

Just Happy to be Hereby PhantomEWOComment: (quote from your post)"How would this have done?" I think it would have easily made the top 1/3rd, and I would have scored it a 7. I don't score many 8's, 9's or 10's. The bars make it easy to crop this correctly and this crop is perfect. Too many times I see a tilted horizon which is so simple to avoid but a lot of people don't. The detail in the black of the fur is great which, for me, is difficult to get right. Again, you did a good job there too. Nobody could have directed a human to such a perfectly framed pose as well as is done here either. I like the stare which seems to go right through the viewer, and overall, I like this shot. |

Nature in Bluesby spydrComment: I finally submitted my entry for the Blue challenge a few minutes ago. When I came across this one during last minute voting (11:36pm), I said "holy sh#%" out loud. This would have been perfect for the Blue challenge, but alas, it is in the Best of 2005 and is definitely one of the best of the best! |

Desert Stormby ArtifactsComment: This fantastic composite is the first favorite that I have collected in a long time. Where and how did you get the image of the lightning? |

Green & Goldby BrianRComment: With your careful use of DOF you managed to keep the crowd in focus. It appears that you were also able to make your subject stand out using selective desaturation. Too bad that wasn't in the challenge details. |
