BEAUTIFUL!!!! This is great...I wouldn't change a thing! The only thing blurry is the movement of the water...perfect. I love the browns of the rocks with the dark and bright greens of the trees and moss. And that MOSS...nice details there too. Great DOF...this is worth getting your butt wet.

This is a beautiful photo, nice color and simple. You have captured the texture on the rocks nicely too. However, I see no motion blur in this photo. I see a blurry reflection of the rocks on the water. Since there is no motion blur, that could be the reason for your low score. I assume that you were just confused about what exactly motion blur is. Your photo, challenge theme aside, is very good. I think that the thick white border really adds to the image. The contrasting colors between the rocks and water really make the picture POP. I hope this was helpful.

CAUTION: Time Passes...Bye!by TroutbearComment: *Critique Club*
This image does have motion blur, but it is very confusing to look at. It seems like the boat and the blurred pole are both fighting for the main subject. Your motion blur is on an object that normally would not be moving. I guess YOU were moving? I think what makes motion blur pictures interesting is that you can visualize the movement in your mind from a still image. It would have made more sense if the BOAT had a motion blur because in reality, it IS a moving object. Poles don't run around on piers. Or if the background was blurry and your camera focused on the fast moving boat. I hope this wasn't rude and you find it helpful.

Whew! She is bookin' it! People wonder why I stay small...I have three of these little rug rats to chase around! First of all....I LOVE the colors...they are very bright and cheerful. You definatly have captured motion, thats for sure. Your cropping is also good. Like others have mentioned, I also agree that at least a portion or two of the girl in focus would have improved your score. I would have liked to see her big smile as she runs around. I still feel that this is a great capture and fun photo.

No Skateboarding Allowedby timfythetooComment: *Critique Club*
I like the duo tones on this shot very much. I think that the motion blur on the person and skate board are great, but the stop sign should have been sharp or cropped out of the image. It is the only "color" object in the shot and it draws the viewers attention away from the subject. Maybe even a landscape crop would have been better for this image. I do admire you for asking strangers if you can take thier photo, I never have the guts enough to do that! |
