"under the bridge"by piticuComment: Wow, I'm reminded how photogenic riveted structural iron can be. The exposure is perfect. The lines are strong, the rhyth effective, the vanishing point perfectly placed. Very Nice. |

bridge over the winterby yomanComment: I like the form of the bridge. I also like the colors of the yellow and red winter wear against the white ice and gray concrete. And I get that this is two bridges: one physical and one metaphorical. But I think that visually the photo would be stronger if it were just the bridge without people or train. Alternatively I think it would be stronger if it were just about the people set against the background of the concrete bridge pier. |

Bethany Bridgeby rexComment: Very interesting color - bridge and concret piers. Great lighting. I like the green reflection of the bridge in the water. The sky adds nothing. Also, I dislike it when strong background lines coincide with major lines in the subject - see where the mountain dips to touch the bridge. |

Foss Bridgeby mdelaplaneComment: The bridge is a good choice; it's structure is very photogenic. I find everything in the left third of the photo to be extraeneous, the floating stuff to be distracting, and the sky to be too big. and uninteresting. |

Path of Light...by blurredvisionComment: The reflection in the water is exquisite. Love the repeating elements on the bridge. And the blue of the sky is just right. |

Grand Canyon Sunsetby RHoldenSrComment: The grand canyon is almost impossible to photograph well from most of the accessible points on the rim - judging from the number of bad shots I've of it , some my own. This shot begins to capture the color and line, the scale and drama of the place. The light and dark areas in front work perfectly to set off the rock formations of more distant canyon walls. Very nice. Message edited by author 2005-02-16 10:09:39. |

Road to Vejerby AranchaComment: I love the concept of this photo. I like the green against the steely gray of the sky. And the farm on the hill adds interest. The silky texture of thhe distant grass lit by low angle light makes the hills very strong.
Photos with this much sky need more interest than this sky happens to provide, I think. If the sky is 80% of the area of a photo, the viewer feels cheated if it is used entirely as a framing element as it is here. I wonder what the photo would look like if 3/4 of the sky were cropped out but the width remained the same. |

Sonomaby EarlySaturdayMorningComment: Great lines, Striking color. The fence, the building, and the tree beside it really make the photo. Nice. |
