| 11/18/2004 08:28:38 PM | Sit With Meby bruskiComment: I like it. Looks the an element of foreshadowing in some mystery. Hmm, I wonder how this bench will factor in? I what I thought. It would be cool if there was actually a lower perspective, someone (an old lady preferrably) sitting on the bench and a white light shining from above as the alien spaceship prepares to beam her up. I give this one a seven, because this is no ordinary park bench. This bench tells a story, literally. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/18/2004 08:26:02 PM | Life's hard...by alienspyComment: Sharp, nice capture. Yep, life is hard when you sleep 15 hours a day. Though, my cat PJ, is pretty active. She tries to follow me wherever I go and I saw her eat a mouse whole the other day. Pretty gruesome if you ask me. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/18/2004 08:16:01 PM | Best friends.by totiComment: Now that's a shot sure to embarrass those boys for years to come. The jackets in addition to the bw give this something of an archaic feel, but the lighting all wrong if that's your angle, but it's still real good capture. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/18/2004 08:10:40 PM | Markenby AzrifelComment: This is a great photo. But there's something about it that irks me. I almost seems like one of those realistic cartoon movies, where the buildings and such don't nseem to mesh with the background. This is artful, however, I think it would have been improved with a person somewhere. I also don't think this was the best picture to put in B&W. I bet it looks much better with color.
This town reminds me a little but of Mister Roger's negihborhood, without ht etoy cars of course, and also a little town in Maryland called Catonville. A nice mix of urban and rural. Speaking of rural, there are some great apples in Hendersonville, North Carolina this time of year. Go down there to apple country if you want to taker some great shots as well as eat your fill of any type of apple you can imagine. Last time I went I enjoyed cooke apples forr breakfast, apple pies, apple cider, candy apple, carmel apples, caramel apples with walnuts, apple candy canes (Yep, I was as surprised as you are). It's nothing but apple, apple, apple, down there, and it really is a beautiful place. Good mountain shots of the Great Smokies, and the weather is fairly warm all year round. A great travel spot. Then there's Virginia Beach, Virginia. Great fishing spot there, and really good for seascapes and marine shots, but that's a story for another day! :) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/18/2004 08:02:18 PM | Good nightby nicklevyComment: Good lighting, though the subject is lacking. Anytime you use inanimate objects that is going to be a problem. Sttrangely this works for me. But still it's somehow sinister. Let me tell you, I can't tell you how many bad dreams about stuffed animals and puppets I've had in my life. I used to wake up in a cold sweat because I'd been dreaming about my teddy bears and sesame street things dancing around the room, poking me with needles and other memorabilia. And don't get me started on Muppets Take Manhattan. Sure, it was a great movie, but their movements at times were downright freaky. If you didn't see it, sorry, but I don't reccommend it for children under 7. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/18/2004 07:54:21 PM | Roots, not the movie!by DustyComment: Now that is a great shot in terms iof perspective and creativity. There is a stone wall where the local kids like to throw tennis balls against and hide behind suspiciously that had roots or vines growing like that. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/18/2004 07:51:55 PM | Resovior Reflectionsby Zap228Comment: The water in this photo is not terribly attractive, nor is the tank in hthe background. But you know there is a park in my town that looks pretty similar. I remmeber it weel because when I was around ten or so my friends and I would ride bikes around that area, skipping stones across the dirty pond, fishing and generally doing the things that young kids like to do. Well thats just my memory of the place that looks similar to this picture. I give it a 5. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/18/2004 07:46:25 PM | Rocketby ruffianComment: Reminds me of Apollo 13 when Tom Hanks and all those other dudes get trapped in space for awhile, but using their wits and resourcefulness are able to fashion crude devices to keep themselves alive while the great minds back in Houston work out ways they can return to earth on limited fuel.
I love how the sky is dark but I can still see clouds. And very good details on the rocket. My childhood dream was to work for Nasa and get in tight with all those scientific types but I never had the math grades. And that's why I always feel a little regretful when I watch the old classics like Space Camp, ET, and flight of the Navigator. Well see ya :)
