I think the shot is great over all. I just have two critiques, and I tihnk they both arrive from the same issue (im guessing) not enough light. A higher f stop would have kept the whole shoe in focus. Second critique is contrast, when looking at the main shadow looks like you pulled the contrast, cureves or levels, a little too much, it works for the shoe but kills the shadow. But who am I too say all of this. Still a great shot! (9)

Well if you are ever on 2nd, on the Belmont Strip, shooting, and two photogenic Labradors approach you for a quick photo shoot (they are both fame whores), they belong to my folks. Austin (the Yellow Lab) and Max (the Black Lab) are popular fixtures there in the community. You can often find them hanging out in the shade or sipping on a cappuccino outside of starbucks.

Nice Shot! Reminds me of home. My family lives two houses off of 2nd Street, on Glendora Ave. Is that the 2nd Street bridge between Naples and Belmont Shore?

Liked the shot and I took interest in your comments about the color. I am going to take a stab and assume you mean the color cast (the afternoon sun). If this is the case maybe I can help. If not just ignore me all together. =)

Okay so I copied your picture, opened it in photoshop and with three clicks in curves I got this (well the one on the top right.

//www.diversenature.com/grouphelp.jpg

If you like it this is all you have to do. Open up your image . In photoshop or similar program go to adjustment, then to curves (bascially my starting point for ALL my images) I know I need to get cracking and post some. There should be a set of three color grabbers there for you. Black/Shadows, Grey/Midtones, and White/Highlights. Using each individual eye dropper click on the corresponding parts of your picture and the white blanace should correct itself to the level of your liking.

Now in your image the palm tree is going to be your mid tone hiding under the sun somewhere, click around till you see the image the way you like it.

Maybe this was helpfull perhaps not. I hope it was though.. If it was and you have other questions, please dont hesitate.

Btw way the B&W(s) just match up with their above color versions Using an adjustment layer "channel mixer" 80% red and 20% green. The one in the Center just cropped and USM.

Once again, Great shot!

Scott

Ahhh, my first post... Be kind.
