Geometricby shamrockComment: Great idea - I think it would have been a stronger photo with a deeper depth of field such that the everything was sharp. |

Lonely Drinkerby TiberiusComment: Your point of interest here is the drinker - I think this is a great photo - and it does have shapes, but I don't think that shapes are the first thing I think of when I view this shot. |

mkby langdonComment: Critique Club - it is alway difficult to take photos of a TV screen - resolution is an issue with the game part of this image. However, I like the diagonal lines of the screen and the controls and you have made nice use of placing the controller near the lower thirds power position. And I think it does a nice job of meeting the challenge. |

Shallow depth shadowby payambComment: Great photo - I love the colors, your choice of subject - great reflection - excellent use of line. However, I can't score it well for this challenge because I don't see any shallow depth of field here - all the lines on the building (the black ones) are sharp. 5 |

White in the Middleby AlanBesComment: Great concept - I do see shallow depth of field in play here - but I find that I wish that there were more spools blurred where only one spool was sharp. |

The Soul of the Gameby CVTJanComment: I scored this well because it is a great use of shallow depth of field. However, I find myself wishing that the front piece was the sharp one and the rest faded into the blur. |

WISCONSINby spydrComment: Great shot with sharp details on all the coins. I like the composition with the coin's edges providing great use of line. The problem, however, is that this photo does not meet the challenge (IMHO) of shallow depth of field. Everything here is in sharp focus. Had you shot this from a slightly different angle using a smaller f/stop such that only a small part of the frame (perhaps the ridge on the California coin) was sharply focused and the rest blurred- it would have gotten a higher score from me. |
