Deep-Seated Obsolescence

Nice compostion, something about it gives me vertigo for some reason though, (not that its a bad thing) I like the choice of B&W for this one. One thing that might have made it more appealing for me is the removal of the seat on the ground from the picture entirely, although one could really start looking for something and come up with some symbolic meaning for the seat being on the ground maybe in combination with the vegation starting to overtake the chair reclaiming borrowed natural resources.

At first i thought I would like to see the clouds more in focus, but as I looked at it I really started to like how the subject really pops out with almost a 3D effect.

A tigher crop on the castle that cut out the person and I would have scored it a little higher. On second thought, the long view makes it seem a little more desolate and obsolete, but the person still distracts.

I love American historical subjects, thanks for including more info in the title about it. Must have been a very bright day, I would like to see what it would look like with a little less exposure.

Don't they still use these? I like the contrast between the orange and dark baground with the dark subject. the moving arm is a little distracting and might have looked better in a fixed postiion, however it must have been either luck or a lot of pictures getting the full arc of the arm in the shot.

It certainly looks broken and obsolete. B&W works well with this pic. Maybe other angles would make it stand out more.
