Incredible! Great composition, perfect use of subdued color, and an engaging subject really make this shot work for me. Looks like Heida's work!

Good use of shallow DOF to emphasize the butterfly. The colors seem a little strange, but it's hard to tell if that's because of the subject or because of an artifact of post-processing. The sharp wing and leaf detail really make this one pop.

Great colors on this one... really invites that retro feel. Looks awfully smooth, though, almost computer-generated. Usually, over-smoothing really detracts from an image, but here, it seems to work well with the almost pastel colors and the subject matter.

Really vivid colors on the sky! Foreground seems quite dark. Seems like there are some heavy shadows falling on the building which break up the lines of the architecture.

Looks like near-IR to me... nice shot, good tree detail... I would have liked to see some more detail on the grass, but it's hard to get that when shooting with such a dark filter. Cloud pattern is very cool. I really like the composition with the strong lines of the treeline and cloud patterns.

Nice studio shot. Your model's expression is hard to read, and doesn't really seem to convey the "warmth" from the title. Lighting and exposure are good, and the pose is well done. A bit more light from the left side would make things seem a bit less stark.

Majestic. Feather detail and the markings around the eye are great! Solid nature "portrait."

Beautiful colors here, and the clouds look great. The detail on the water's surface is well captured. Leadng lines of the photo really pull you off into the mountains in the distance.

Great architectural abstract. Off-center composition is key here, and placement of differing construction materials in the frame really bring out a view that you can take lots of time to explore without changing viewpoint. Lighting and DOF are well done here to achieve a good capture of the architecture from a unique viewpoint.

Monet would be proud... very reminiscent of his Wheatstacks (End of Summer) ... very appropriate for a September Free Study. Exposure and lighting are well done, deep DOF works well to capture the distant landscape along with the detail of the stacks.
