A New Life Has Sprung

Beautiful detail and frame. Young small green leaves vs. old large brown leaf. You captured "opposite" and all of your visual cues support each other. I like your figure vs. ground, too.

Cold - Hot

Cold - Hot

Comment:
Not quite. If the Gbelt had a warm or hot hue AND had the ice bucket been sweating (i.e., filled with cold ice in a hot room), then you might have captured the concept. Otherwise, a warm bucket and a cool-colored gbelt doesn't get there.

Opposite Sex : Caught in the Act!

Comment:
Opposite sex, indeed. But the image as a whole doesn't convey "opposite." Otherwise, good detail and frame.

Nice reflection. Yet, is a mirror image truly an opposite?

Comment:
Too dark - the clouds in the background are brighter than your bright "stone," so your opposite objects don't seem to contrast enough.

Short vs. tall - that's an opposite. Still growing? I'm not sure how that's fits the challenge. Otherwise, a very nice greyscale.

North & South

Comment:
Excellent attention to detail. I like how you've oriented both the map and the compass toward magnetic north. I also like your greyscale - you've used the entire range available to you and provide good visual contrast. I'm not sure you captured the "opposite" theme, however. Am I missing the point? A map and compass by design "go together" - they are not opposites. Perhaps a different challenge.

If you used the Union States flag of the period, then you would've had a better opposite of the Confederate States flag. Otherwise, nice detail and color.

Sweet & Sour

Comment:
Good - sweet vs. sour does convey an "opposite." The wood-grained background is a bit noisy - but the dark tone certainly allows the light-colored lemon and sugar (figure) to stand out.
