I think it would have been a stronger image if the boy had not been looking out of the picture. The subject implies a lonely boy contemplating whatever, but I can't help getting the feeling he is watching something just outside the left edge. If he had been placed more to the right, it would look more as if he stared into nothingness, since there would more "nothing" to see in the picture.
That said, this is a very good shot.

IMHO I think you should have cropped it a bit tighter to reduce the amount of water in the picture and get a stronger focus on the main subject. But it is still a very good shot!

But I really think you should rotate the pic to get the floor horizontal. As it is, that detail grabs a lot of the attention away from the subject.

There's a wow factor somewhere in this one, but you should soften the very bright background to get more focus on the main subject.
