Hummingbird at Nightby MarjoComment: Hard to rate this shot as the noise is so extreme due I suppose to a very fast ISO. Credit for capturing the bird in difficult conditions but suffers from poor quality. |

My Sauna Beer Fridge.by MotoCycleBoiComment: Very clever and technically spot on. The focus and clarity of the beer contrasts nicely with the just right amount of fuzziness in the person. Well captured. |

All in the mindby dorinnComment: Rejkjavik? Nicely observed and humorous. I can't help feeling though that you might have been able to find a better location from which to shoot so as to avoid all that distracting background clutter. Or are the streetlights part of the composition? If so I don't like them. Those hills in the background would have made a wonderful backdrop. Even if you couldn't have avoided the clutter, you could have minimised it (move left and have streetlights behind statutes) and then used advanced editing rules to remove what remained. 7 |

Slippedby GolferDDSComment: Good idea but it does not look authentic (guess that would be hard) but some things could be done to improve matters. Have the banana obviously having slid along the surface, choose a more realistic surface (e.g. pavement), have the foot in a more natural pose.... 6 |

Still Youngby ZoomdakComment: Beautiful portrait and nicely composed with the blackness to left and tree trunk to right. Congratulations on capturing the expression and seeing so much detail. Effective entry at a high standard. |

Retired & Rustingby geewhyComment: This is so beautiful! It's like a painting - the composition and colours are stunning. One niggle as with Ben Aan shot are the visible square cross-hatched artefacts. Is this a consequence of Neat Image? |

Seaside Eclipseby marboComment: This is an arresting image with a fascinating depth when viewed on a flat screen from different angles. The colours and composition are effective and stimulating. the only thing that detracts from its appeal for me is the apparently over blurred/softened water. 8 |

Eilan Donanby GordonComment: A classic scene. Nicely framed though I woudl have preferred a conventional 35mm frame size with the lowe quarter of shot cropped out. The shot suffers though from a high sun which desaturises the colours and gives an overall washed out feel. An evening shot or more moody shot might have worked better. |

Ben A`an at twilight by geewhyComment: I had high hopes of this as a thumbnail and liked it instantly when viewed full size. A wonderful ethereal feel and an excellent composition. Unfortunately it is let down by some kind of square artefacts (seen particularly in dark area lower left) that suggest overdone post-capture processing. 7 rather than 8 or 9. |
