Nice shot - shame about the shadow filling half the frame, and on a personal note i would have liked to have seen more of a close up of the water wheel, which on it's own is interesting. The modern thing at the front adds a little too much clutter to the overall image and isn't strictly necessary.

Technically I consider this to be a great shot - the colours are bright and bold, focus is really good and overall, well executed. The sky is a little bit dull, and the weather has made the mountains at the but a bit murky; but unless you're a supreme being, there's bog all that can be done about that. My principal gripe is that the wheel element of this shot is purely incidental, and isn't even that apparent. Notwithstanding, I do consider this a great picture..

Going monochrome works, but the shot itself is too out of focus (unless you were going for a soft focus, but in this context I'm not sure it's really the best option) and it's about a ninth the size of what you're allowed to submit. Really, for me, small images does not carry the same oomph factor as something on a bigger scale. Size does matter! Choosing stabilisers (they're called something else in the states) is inspired, for they fits the challenge, they're cute and of course nostalgic for a good portion of the worlds population.

Nice one! The sombre colours work exceedingly well. And the angle of the shot on the wheel in question is totally spot on, and i love the fact that the wheel is subtlely just a tiny bit more in focus than the rest - i find my eye drawn to it naturally immediately. very classy shot. 9.

I do hope that nobody penalises you for your chosen subjects not being wheel, because I know that they are. Just wonder how universal the concept of cheese wheels are, though. Of course, in the UK rolling them down hills is a national past time... Anyway, your picture. The colours appear a bit odd - possibly a little over satuated? And i might have been tempted to crop out the shelf at the top. But i do like the interesting choice of subject for it is very original, so i hope it does well.

Favourite element of this - the colours. So bright and bold!

Least favourite element - the background. To me, being subjective and probably wrong on this, the Depth of field seems a tiny bit awry, clashing somewhat with the excellent sharpness of the wheel in the foreground. Does that make sense to you? I think the sudden impact of the DOF might have been lessened if it were cropped a little more on the left. Still, it is a good shot, the focus is (rightly) on the wheel... I wonder what the wheels are a part of...? hmmm. 7.

I feel bad for the owner of the truck, but hey, I do like the photo! I'm not always a fan of going B&W, but i think in this case it kind of works... I'd want to see more of the front of the truck, but then I shouldn't because that would detract from the wheels and the challenge specifically is about the wheels... So how you've composed / cropped the shot is right for the challenge, but maybe not right for the image? it's a good shot though, and it's interesting and attention grabbing. 7.

Well, I guess a car might be defined as a set of wheels, but i think that's pushing it a bit... I like the Lancer - the latest Evo is a gorgeous rocket of a motor... but, i don't know - the wheels aren't prominent enough IMHO to truly fit the spirit of the challenge, and the picture is a bit too noisy - the trail from the rear lights are a bit superfluous... It might have been enhanced if it was only a still shot? A bit of neatimage (freeware!) might have helped smooth it out too.

Oh yes? Hmm, your (office?) chair is in an interesting environment then? Odd title, but I think I can relate. I like the photo - it's colour, composition, simplicity and subject matter is pretty decent. Detail / focus is good (I can see a little hair on the right wheel). I might just have cropped the top out a bit - but other than that a great shot - 8.

The only problem with B&W is that you can't see if it's rusty... It's a bit of an unusual angle, too, but I like the snow and (ignoring the rust issue) the B&W gives an aged feel which works in this case. Personally, it's not particularly inspiring, but it fit's the challenge well. It could do with being larger though - you're given 640 pixels and really those should be used to get the extra gravitas. 5.
