Strange beautyby duquedebaruComment: Strange? Perhaps. Beauty? I don't know - I've revisited the photo several times but still don't get it. |

Bottoms up, Mates!by rmlutgenComment: Technically I find the photo to be rather flat and cropped ( or framed ) too tightly. Some color saturation adjustments might help. |

An Apple a Day is a Penny Earned...by dahvedComment: Technically, fairly well executed. A few suggestions on this particular setup to make it more "real": 1) the "bite" doesn't look like a bite - no teeth marks or jagged edges to it; 2) the penny is too flatly exposed and too shiny - it should be partially imbedded in the pulp and tarnished from the acid in the apple. |

Diamond(s) in the Roughby dcclossComment: Even with the title, it took me three separate viewings to make out that that was a diamond tennis bracelet in there. It looked to me like it was a patterened shoelace or something. Anyway, now that I "get it" I'll raise the score a bit. ( lighting might have been used more to highlight the sparkle in the diamonds - that might have helped ). |

A Hidden Treasureby ManikzComment: It must be my eyes, because I spent several minutes looking for it, but still can't find the hidden treasure. To me this is just a photo of some large rocks. On that basis, it's an OK photo, but still doesn't do much for me. |

Unexpected Invitation by ZoomdakComment: Serenity for sure, but serendipity? I don't know. But the theme is nebulous enough to say, sure, why not? In that case you get a 10 from me for this superb photo. I can't find anything that I would change. Great color and depth; composition is perfect, as is the exposure. |

"Surprise from a Penny Jar"by tfarrell23Comment: Hmmm. The only way this could really be serendipity is that the owner of the pennies wanted to trade them in for bills or larger denomination coins, and chose an extraordinarily honest numismatist as the 'banker'. Hopefully others will "get" what this particular coin represents. And, hopefully the coin is YOURS. Photographically, I applaud everything about the shot -l focus, color, crop, and composition. A 10 from me. |

Fly Rod & Reelby Links 2 3 4Comment: I could easily imagine this photo on the cover of a magazine. Room at the top and sides for Title & text make it perfect. I'll bet that water's very cold. Nice entry. |

Railroad Enthusiastby ClubJuggleComment: I've chased trains in Vermont for catching photos like this. Very nice capture. Good composition and contrast, with very little loss of detail. Great cover photo. |
