Orange Berriesby crisComment: Nice use of DOF, but the bright gray branch is more distracting than adding to the photo. Try to find a bunch of berries that aren't on their way out, half-rotten ones aren't very appealing. ^^;; Also, maybe try to place your subject somewhere else rather than just centered in the picture (rule of thirds). Exitby DyslexicComment: Very nice use of negative space. However, too much compression or too little pixels. Sharpen it up a bit to bring out the sign. Try cropping out the light and simplify the whole thing with just the sign and the wall. Score: 4 |

Acornsby t_onlineComment: It is brown, not orange, which is obvious since it is wood. I like the idea, but it seems really flat. Try cropping it to just a section of the photo, maybe 1/4 of this, like the bottom right corner. There is no place to focus like this, nothing to draw attention. Score: 4 |

Purpleby addiBangsiComment: Purple...? You title really throws me off... Was the G originally written in purple? It's also brown, and not orange. I really can't tell what those things are on the table and that bothers me. I like the shadow and fading effect, but the overexposed left side and the background which doesn't meet at the back (and the fold in it) are distracting. Score: 4 |

Undiesby jgawrychComment: Purple, Yellow, Red. Orange? Try cropping to cut off the purple ones and the end of the poll to the right. Up the contrast to make the white wall, white and rotate to level out the pole they are hanging on. Score: 3 Message edited by author 2004-03-31 01:26:33. |

Hotel Sunby annapiComment: Turning it into a "negative" is not taking an interesting picture. Yes, there is a lot of orange, but it was no in the original. Try cropping more on the left to cut off the lonely spire edge and then add more of the tree to the right of the hotel. Score: 3 |

File 13by candycornComment: Erm...Nice idea, but too staged looking for not being in a studio. Perhaps try actually dropping them and see how they land. The overcompression of your file made it a bit blurry. I do like the off-set and not just centering the can. Perhaps boost the contrast to make everything brighter and make the wall whiter. Waiter, There's a fly in my soup!by Prof_FateComment: Blurry, bad reflections on the silverware. The whole spoon should be in the shot as well as the fork, or crop the fork closer to match the knife. The different lighting on the knife and fork is distracting. Score: 3 |

Iceby thumperComment: Orange/yellow reflections, but the majority of the picture is red. The metal bowl really distracts and the bright white spots on the left side do as well. If the whole background were black like the upper left corner and everything was sharper (not just the metal bowl in focus), the score would have been bumped up. Score: 3 |

Liquidateby asijComment: Turning it into a "negative" is not taking an interesting picture or an orange picture. It is pinkish-brown. Also, put the subject off to one side or the other, don't center it. I do like your use of the ripples though. Score: 3 |
