rustby lelaniComment: greetings from the critique club!!
Well, by reading your comments you can see that the subject of depth of field has the DPC'ers split on you concept here. I don't find a problem with your choice. In fact I find it compelling. I do find the crop distracting however. I think that the photo needs to end at the end of the fence line. My eyes are being pulled to far right and away your subject, the rusty pipe. saludos, russ |

Dual wheel driveby mykolearyComment: greetings from the critique club !!
What this picture lacks for me is composition. It is a little blocky and square, and with such strong verticle lines, I think that you could benefit from a tighter crop. I am in agreement with the comment that the sky trailing all the way down the right side is a distraction, and I think the small patch of sky to the lower left could be cropped out as well.
Good detail and color. You certainly selected a great subject. If this were mine I would play with a bunch of different crops. I think I see several nice images in the photograph. |

new york, new york (jeter at the plate, rodriguez on deck)by tomzinhoComment: 176 entries, and maybe 5 that attempted to show anything to do with the culture. Funny, my guide book goes about 50/50 for shots of scenery compared to shots of culture awareness. DPC is a homogenized community. Majority rules here. 20th isn't bad, but in my contest you were in the top 5. Congratulations on a high finish. russ |

Chess Proportionsby s4nd3r99Comment: I've come to decide that this is the best in show. Good luck!!! I would crop out that tiny hint of the king that is visible tho the left of the center pawn. It's just a tad distracting. Of course that's not possible for the rules of this competition. Just something to think about if you plan to take this image farther. I would be entering everplace that I could find. Great shot. 10 |

Spring lonelinessby cmartosComment: Very, very strong shot. One of my ribbon choices. Congratulations. I might have composed with the tree just slightly more to the left. In a competition that permitted spot editing, I would have removed some of the digital dust and reflective distractions in the dirt and front field. There's a distracting smudge in the sky about halfway up to the right of the tree. Good luck!!! 9 |
