Sea Levelby ChrisW123Comment: I can't add anything to what's already been said, this is a great shot! Reminds me of a scene from my favorite movie, "Vertigo". |

bla-sfperformer.jpgby ChrisW123Comment: That's a nicely-focused shot, but for me it opens more questions than it answers. If the color version gives more clues on the intent of the performer, you might consider that one a better story-teller. Also, I think I like it better with the 3 people on the right cropped out, as they and the sign don't add anything to the performance. |

ani-hippo2.jpgby ChrisW123Comment: That is a great abstract - if not for the title, I would've been hard-pressed to find the hippo. Nonetheless, an excellent capture of the textures and curves of this animal's skin. |

IMG_4376 copy 800.jpgby ButterflySisComment: A great find! I love your post-processing. You got the perfect angle on the boat, but the white building (or ship?) in the background detracts. Great job. |

IMG_5288 copy 800.jpgby ButterflySisComment: I like the tones and textures here a lot. Getting the steeple and the skyscraper in the middle of the shot works well, because the convergence of those lines is lessened. |

Granadaby BAMartinComment: I like this picture a lot in a travelogue kinda way. It could be a super jigsaw puzzle. The only thing I would try to see if it's improved by cropping out the top 10% or so, just the sky and the bluest distant lands. |

King_Mountain.jpgby BAMartinComment: A very nice shot at a great time of day - good shadows, interesting cloud formation. This might be one where you skip the rule of thirds, and crop out nearly all of the foreground. (But then you'll get comments like "use the rule of thirds".) Also, the horizon line (between the foreground green and the mountains) is slanted down to the left. |

PUMPKINS, SQUASH AND GOURDSby sabphotoComment: I like this subject and your composition and focus are great. I think it suffered a little because the light was so diffuse and lacking shadow. Getting that right is tough to do unless you're in a studio setup or something like it. Nice job. (I don't get why some people would think gourds aren't bizarre!) |
