Future Starby RuchartComment: Nice, frozen movement shot of the young player, presumably at a practice. I like the choice of perspective. I think I'd like more space, though, between the skater and the bottom of the frame so that he had more room to skate into. I have no objection to the slanted yellow edge of the rink. It adds to a sense of movement. |

Taking a Breakby Ten13Comment: Lots of implied motion in this image. I'm not sure that the choice of perspective is ideal, however. Also, because the balls are so scattered, so is our attention. Our eyes are pulled in several different directions. |

After the Fireby aimee_skittlesComment: I love the image. The tones are lovely and the use of the ruined arch as a frame for the part of the structure beyond it has worked very well. I also love the uncut grass in the foreground and the pretty clouds in the sky. To my eye, though, the bright sunlight and the light sky with pretty, wispy clouds play against the idea of desolation. Nonetheless, I think that this is a beautiful image, and it could certainly be argued that the ruins and the uncut grass convey a sense of abandonment and desolation. |

Catching the last busby kostiaComment: I like this composition a lot. The empty pavement and the blown about bits of paper and the dead leaves do certainly coinvey a feeling of desolation to me. Nice interpreation of the challenge. |

trapped...by wetlandComment: This is very interesting use of negative space. (I know that's not what this particular challenge is about, but this photo does happen to display effective use of negative space.) The little house certainly looks isolated, but I'm not sure that it also looks desolate. |

Home Aloneby OneSweetSinComment: This is a fun picture and it certainly does recall the movie. I'm a bit bothered, though, by the colour cast that makes parts of the boy's skin look quite blue. Also the little spot at the end of the boy's nose is a bit distracting. I would clone it out. |

Mavrickby StevePaxComment: Very nice use of black and white in the composition. There's a tiny spot in the top left hand corner (a stuck pixel?) that should be cloned out. Also, if this were mine, I'd clone out the two black dots showing on the bottom frame below the ace. They tend to draw the eye to themselves and so are a bit distracting. |

Lethal Weaponby Chilly0999Comment: I don't know about this imitating a scene from the movie, but it's a beautifully sharp, clear and well set up shot. |

The Adventures of Pricilla, Queen of the Desertby friscaComment: This photo does a good job of providing equivalents for the human actors and Priscilla (the vehicle) in the movie. The image seems to tip just a little bit to the left. You might want to try rotating it to the right a fraction. |
