An Eagle Runningby BigMoComment: Good action and colour. The 1/2 man intruding into the frame at the top left is a bit distracting. |

Into the Unknownby KoriyamaComment: A very interesting chess shot. I like the motion blur on the pawn in the middle of the row of pawns. I personally don't see chess as a sport, but I like this shot. Nice sepia tones and interesting concept. |

Airborneby GraciousComment: Nice composition and definitely a sports subject. Good straight horizon, too. I think I'd like the image to be a bit sharper and less hazy, but I guess that the weather was responsible for the haze, and there's not too much we can do about the weather. |

Free as a bird...by Apollo2077Comment: The combination of bright sun and haze must have made this a real challenge to photograph. The bright sun has created some hotspots on the "sail" and the mist haze has created some lack of clarity. Also, it would have been better, I think, if the main subject hadn't been quite so centred. |

Aussie Rules, Canadian Styleby ToddhComment: Lots of action and excellent, sharp focus on the two players in the left foreground. I also love the position of the ball and the motion blur on it. I'm not sure about the player bursting into the frame from the left. It does add action, but I think I'd prefer it not to be there. Without it, the composition would be perfectly balanced. |

Frisbee Dogby tfaustComment: Very, very nice! Arguably, "dog frisbee" might not qualify as a sport. To me, though, this image definitely shows the essence of sport--energetic physical movement, intense focus on the object of the game by the player(s). The action is beautifully caught in this image and the composition and colour are excellent. We can feel the dog's intent concentration and see the muscle strain. Great timing for this shot and great use of light and shadow. Yes, I like this one a lot! |

Paddle Practiceby BeagleboyComment: Definitely a sports them, with a real feeling of competition. Good sharpness from front to back, too. However, the preponderance of straight lines parallel to the top and bottom frames and the lack of any motion blurs or much other evidence of motion give the image a slightly static quality IMHO. |
