The light makes the guy & umbrella look flat and artificial. The footsteps and misty horizon are a nice touch.

I realize that it's winter in the northern hemisphere, but this would have been a lot more appealing if the grass were green. It might take a few passes, but I suspect that you could shift the hue of the grass to make it appear to be a healthy summer green.

Free Money (FedEx Fantasy)

Comment:
The FedEx box in the background seems like a needless distraction. I think that the fantasy you've depicted will resonate with virtually everyone, but the execution is rather unremarkable. Changing the angle, light, etc could have produced a better image.

The vignetting and shadowed eye sockets are distracting. Placing something light colored just below the camera would help to bounce light back onto his face, which would help the latter problem. The image would be more appealing if it weren't so heavily sharpened. The relationship of the image to the challenge topic feels rather forced.

The strong shadows are distracting. Moving your model farther from the backdrop would have helped to reduce the impact of the photos on the final image.

The color cast is somewhat distracting - it's too white to feel like a faded or antique photo, and too far off white to feel properly white balanced. I like the concept, but the flowers and the stool make this feel a lot cheesier than it would if it were taken with a shallow DoF outside with a blurry environmental scene as the backdrop.

I really like the idea, but the lighting is too far off to make this illusion work. I think that even placing the magic carpet on a table to raise it up from the background would help you to pull off the illusion.

This looks too fake and digital-artsy to appeal to me in a photography contest. I think that in this context the fantasy would feel more fantastic if it were better grounded in something that looked real. I think that I'd be able to connect better with an element of fantasy that's surrounded by the everyday mundanity than one which is surrounded by an artificial looking scene.

Comment:
The colors in this image are rather drab and the lighting rather flat. Both of these could have been corrected in your image editor by altering the contrast and color saturation. I think that the composition would be stronger if there was a clear point of interest for me to look at; as it is it just looks like any other stand of trees.
