Also, being this far away from the camera makes the detail rather hard to see. Putting him more on the bottom left third line I think would work better.
Also, the white balance seems to be a bit off, as in too yellow/orange. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

I think people will pick up on the fact that the purple isnt a prominant enough part of the image, as if you look at the other entries the purple colour is dominant, even if it is small. The bright lights distract from it a bit though, meaning It's slightly blured. For a first entry it's still a good shot, and you'll become accustomed to the type and style of shot people enter so it'll become easier for you. : ) | Photographer found comment helpful. |

OK, the focus of the image is the front left, making everything else out of focus. Needed a greater depth of field, and the purple needed to be in focus.
Also, for a challenge like this, the photo needs to scream purple, so the person needed to be larger in the frame.
Did you Post Process your image? There are many things you are allowed to do in Basic Editing that will also improve your shot. The colours int his are a little uninspiring, and would have been great if the Purple was a bit more vivid. Read the Rules for what you are allowed to do, and play with photoshop/lightroom or whatever program you have.
Good Luck and keep Submitting!! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Focus can be difficult at night, but this kind of image calls for sharper focus. Play around with the focus settings or consider manual focus in low light. Having the far end of the walkway tilted makes for an uncomfortable sliding sensation that could be corrected by a little rotation in post processing. For a "purple" challenge, higher votes will go to images that draw the eye to that color. In this case, the artificial lighting could use a little white balance correction to make the purple jacket stand out more. Good luck. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
