The lighting to me is just right. Not too dark or too light to capture the lonely, desolate feeling.

slightly on the dark side. perhaps changing the composition a little (the boat a touch more diagonal) would make this image stronger.

I'm not sure the boat being so high in the frame works here. I'd like to see it cropped so that there is a greater expanse of water beyond.
