An interesting flower and you have captured the striations and ruffles. The foliage is very much incidental to the flowe, and as such the photo is at a distinct disadvantage in this challenge. I would urge you to explore different framings - get down low, level with the flower, shoot upwards, across, try with more of the environment included in the frame.

Edited to add, I keep thinking of this shot, and I am realizing I have been thinking of it, so it has grabbed my attention enough to re-look at it. It is still painting(lyerish) to me, but I really like it. I can see that in a room. Bumping you up!
