Trainby KaeComment by Alicia: I love this photo - the framing is wonderful, as is your Black/White conversion. The kids are very cute and really make the photo (I disagree with kaiser_chief down there). |

Trainby KaeComment by kaiser_chief: Sorry, for this challenge this photo would have been great if the two kids were not in the way. Looking through the window at the conductor with rows of seats would have been good. The kids takes away the entire effect. |

Trainby KaeComment by Yo_Spiff: This is fun. You can tell these kids were hamming it up for the camera. My grandson makes a "tough guy" face whenever the camera comes out. |

Trainby KaeComment by J-Me: Really lovely shot, well framed by the train door and the lighting inside the train car. |

Cross Roadsby KaeComment by choltmeier: Sky seems like it needs a little more definition. An ND grad filter may have brought the exposure down and allowed more detail to be visible. |

Cross Roadsby KaeComment by ShutterPug: too bad it was so cloudy. I would have loved to see some side lighting on the grasses from the sun |

Ready To Goby KaeComment by SaraR: I have been saving this for the end. I really, really like the photo - and in a Free Study would probably have given it a vote of 7 or 8. There is a huge sense of narrative here, not just in the scene as presented, where, who, why, but also a narrative in the ambiguous intent of the photographer, almost as though the photographer is hinting at life's bigger picture. i am not being particular articulate here, but this photo leaves an undefinable, but strong impression on me.
However, and here is the thorn, the connection to the challenge is not readily apparant to me. Yes, there is some pattern in the scene - the paving, the parked cars, the balance of the couple under the umbrella with the pedestrians at the end of the view - but it just doesn't quite cut it for me (and I readily admit I may be missing your intent) in the challenge to which it has been entered. |
